SUBJECT: Lake Bluff PTO Newsletter, November 16, 2023

It's been a great week of celebrating the success of the Beagle Dash! It was so fun to see so many students enjoying the popcorn party last Friday. Thank you to the many volunteers who filled over 500 popcorn bags and helped pass them out after school. And thank you to our wonderful DJ, James Norris for keeping all of us dancing and moving!

By now, your student has probably shared the great excitement of having a GaGa Pit (older) and bubbles & chalk (youngers) out during recess. So many joyful faces having fun on the playground.  The celebration conclude with the much anticipated Pie-in-The-Faces event today. Thank you, Principal O.K., Ms.Harrison and Mr. Kriegel for being such good sports!

No worries if your student missed it, a video of all three Pie-in-the-Face events will be shown during each lunch hour tomorrow.

Adding to the excitement this week has been the Scholastic Book Fair! Thank you to all the volunteers who make it happened. The in-person Scholastic Book Fair concludes after tonight's Open House. An online version will remain open for two weeks. Details below.

On Monday night at 7pm is the annual conversation with School Board Members; the new Superintendent, Laurie Burgos, will be in attendance too.  All families are encouraged to attend. It's virtual to make it easy to pop in and out as your schedule allows. Feel free to ask questions or just listen. Zoom details below.

On Tuesday, stop by for coffee at drop-off. The PTO will have a table in on the front lawn from 8am-9am.

Do you enjoy party planning? SEED (the district-wide foundation) is seeking a Lake Bluff Parent(s) to co-host the 2024 Swing With Shorewood. Please contact Sarah Keefe if you are interested in joining the fun.

The holiday season begins next week. Please consider making your annual donation of  $20 per student via our website to fund the Annual Teacher and Staff Gift Fund. Please take a moment to go to the PTO Website to make your annual contribution. Not sure if you contributed? Click "Previous Orders" under "My Account" to check.

Finally, did you miss the opportunity to purchase our 2023-2024 T-shirt at the beginning of the year? We have restocked all adult and kids sizes. Please visit the PTO store to make your purchase.
