To start the year off, please take a moment to go to the PTO Website, www.LakeBluffBeagle.com. Within five minutes and a few clicks, you can update your child's information in the PTO/School Directory, pay your annual contribution to the teacher/staff gift fund, review the volunteer opportunities, and more. Please be sure to select this year's teacher for each student to receive class-specific communications.

The Lake Bluff Directory is the only place to find the names and contact information of Lake Bluff students. It serves as the school directory. Also, by updating/inputting your information, the PTO can send occasional emails regarding upcoming events.

Room parents are the contact person for class questions, especially for new-to-the-district families. Of course, they aren't expected to know all the answers, but they help find the answer. They also help share PTO news and events with parents. 

Room parents help arrange volunteer signups for class parties, field trips, and end-of-the-year events such as Hot Dog Day and Teacher Appreciation Week, which can be done via emails and/or SignUpGenius. 

Room parents purchase end-of-the-year (June) gifts for their teachers. This money comes from the Teacher Gift Fund collection. The PTO treasurer will divide the fund money equally among teachers and get a check to you in the Spring. The PTO purchases Holiday Gifts for the entire staff using the Gift Fund, but room parents often supplement with a class card.

Lake Bluff is turning 100! On September 8, 1924, Lake Bluff School welcomed its first students. 

To commemorate this moment in history, we are throwing a party on Saturday, September 21! Join us by the playground from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm for more fun, including:

• Immy's African Cuisine and Musa Ice Cream Food Truck
• Cupcakes
• Face Painting
• Bubbles & Dancing
• A visit from a Milwaukee Brewer's Racing Sausage
• Yard Games and more!

Additionally, stop by between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm for a self-guided building tour hosted by the Shorewood Historical Society. Retired Lake Bluff staff and historical society members will be on hand to highlight various historical details within the building. Copies of Ben Tyjeski's beautiful new book, "The Lake Bluff Story in Art Tiles," will be available for purchase.

Please join us after drop off on Thursday, September 26th for our first PTO meeting of the year. We will be discussing Walk to School Day, the Beagle Bulletin, where our fundraising money is spent, and all the ways you can get involved with the PTO. We hope to see you there!

The Beagle Dash returns! Mark your calendars, the fun run is October 10th! The Beagle Dash replaces replaces a majority of our other fundraising events. More details soon!

What does the Beagle Dash Fund?

• New Family Popsicle Social  - funds are used for Lake Bluff spirit items and Pete's Pops for all
• 100th Anniversary Activities
• Artist in Residence Fund - funds projects that switch annually between art & music
• Provided mini-grants to all teachers to help underwrite the out-of-pocket beginning-of-the-year costs.
• Educational Grants - Grant approximately $7,500 to fulfill teacher requests across all areas of Lake Bluff. 
• Family Movie Night
• Math Game Night
• 5th & 6th Grade Dance
• Hot Dog Day - T-shirts and festive fun
• 6th Grade Celebration 
• And so much more...

The PTO is collecting nut free, shelf stable, healthy snacks for the main office to keep on hand for students that forget to bring one to school.
