Second Annual Fun Run, The Beagle Dash

Thursday, October 10th

 

WHO:  All students will run/walk/dance for 30 minutes during school hours. The event is accessible for all students and everyone succeeds!  

 

WHAT: The Beagle Dash is a fundraiser that benefits our school community.

 

WHERE: Lake Bluff School on the field in a designated area during the school day for 30 minutes.

 

HOW: Funds will be collected via your child’s online fundraising page. There is a 10 day official fundraising period that culminates in the run at school. Again, all students succeed.   

 

Parents will receive information via flyers in their children’s backpacks, the weekly Beagle Bulletin sent by Principal French, the PTO Newsletter and the PTO website (www.LakeBluffBeagle.com).

 

Any fundraising prizes will be distributed after school at the end of October.

 

HOW TO REGISTER:  Go to https://mybooster.com/v3. Register as a parent and then it prompts you to pick a school and add your child's name and classroom. Look for an email from Booster with a link to your child's page.  If you registered last year, you can just log-in using the same link and register your child again for this year. 

 

WHEN:  The run is October 10. The official fundraising period runs October 1 - October 10.  All families are asked to consider participating by registering starting September 17 and collecting donations.  

 

WHY:  The goal of the Beagle Dash is to raise funds that will allow us to continue to provide and expand enrichment opportunities that strengthen our school community.  Funds raised last year were used to finance The All School Read, Math Game Night, Family Movie Night, yearbooks for every student, over $7,500 for staff led educational grants that directly impact students, Artist in Residence, New Family Popsicle Social, Welcome Back Breakfast for Staff, and so much more. 

 

Fundraising Goals:

$22,000 - After School Popcorn & Music Party 

$26,000 - Yearbooks for all Students! 

$28,000 - Composting Returns! 

$30,000 - All School Slime Day!

COMMUNICATION SUMMARY

 

A variety of flyers and emails will be sent home ahead of the Beagle Dash. Beginning on October 1, students will be shown a Castle Quest Character video at lunchtime. The video series teaches the students how they can make a difference. Links to the flyers and the videos are listed below.

PRIZES

 

Students earn prizes from Booster for achieving different fundraising levels. Prize information can be found on MyBooster.com. Every student who registers for an account will receive a keychain. All prizes will be distributed by the end of October. In addition, each month, one lucky family from around the country wins a trip to Disney.

WHAT'S THE CONNECTION TO DUDE PERFECT?

 

Booster has teamed up with sports & comedy team, Dude Perfect, to create a line of fun prizes for this year's Booster program. Prizes are earned by reaching various donation levels. More information about prizes can be found on MyBooster.com.

 


 

DO I NEED TO DONATE A SPECIFIC AMOUNT?

 

Donations of any size are welcome! Make a flat donation or donate per lap.

Each child will be considered to have completed all 35 laps.

 


 

HOW DOES THIS FUN RUN BENEFIT MY CHILD?

 

Funds raised will support PTO activities - from social & enrichment events to direct classroom materials.

 


 

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT?

 

 Students will run, race, walk, and dance, doing laps with their class for 30 minutes. Students may take breaks, drink water, and use the bathroom during this time.The event is accessible to all students and designed so that all students succeed. A DJ will host the event, and will be held outside. If there is inclement weather, the run will be moved inside.

 

Can I watch my child? Yes, you can come and be a spectator, or volunteer to cheer on your child!
